These workshops teach how to organise and plan clothes to save time and money, appropriate clothes for different occasions, how accessorising can make the same outfit look different, colour co-ordination & analysis, plan for shopping and how to pack lightly for travelling. Through demonstrations and fun activities, many styling tips are shared. Workshops are most suitable for girls in Grade 6 to Year 12 and are conducted in small groups of no more than 6 girls at the Boutique for 2 to 3 hours during the school holidays.
A wardrobe is like a big jigsaw puzzle and it can take years to build. Going shopping can be confusing with so many choices, so alot of the skills taught in these workshops will reduce the frustration and you can make better choices.
The workshops are run by Sue Harries and Georgia Lee, both Certified Stylists, demonstrating and presenting different topics. There are fun fashion activities throughout the workshop.
These are skills for life. Being organised with good planning, can save so much time and money which girls will always benefit from.
Workshop 1 covers: wardrobe organisation, how to mix and matching clothes, working with pattern & print clothing, feeling comfortable, accessorising with scarves, jewellery, shoes and bags, show the different jean styles & cuts, preparing for casual clothes day at school, skin tone colours and colour analysis.
Workshop 2 covers: Style Types, Dress Codes, wardrobe organisation, planning clothes for work experience, travel packing, the most versatile pieces, layering, fashion and fads, grooming for first impressions, shop planning, on-line shopping & colour analysis. Style Types & Dress Codes
We provide images & discussion on Style types, going through the many dress codes that help the girls navigate what to wear when going to events.
Further Wardrobe Organisation & Planning
We show the girls how to plan clothes to take on a weekend away, and holidays, so they don’t pack their entire wardrobe. We work through their own summer and winter clothes. We show how to mix and match items and teach them that you don’t have to take your entire wardrobe of clothes. We teach how to rotate clothes, so they have a new look every day. We provided with a guide of how to plan clothes for work experience, for when that time comes.
Layering Clothes
This is a particularly helpful skill, particularly in cold climates. We teach the girls the tricks of making this work.

We provide a list of clothes and show these pieces, which helps them understand by having a few items that are versatile, you will always have something to wear, no matter where you are going.
First impressions – Grooming
We run through a range of grooming suggestions to always look well groomed.
Shopping Plan
Planning with your current clothes in mind, with actual events to wear them to, will always save money. It’s about getting organised and having a list and knowing how to find the pieces you need.
Tips & Tricks when Online shopping.
This can be a confusing way to shop, so we discuss how to avoid overspending and some of the things to look out for, so you don’t make an unwanted purchase.
Colour Analysis
A detailed analysis of colour for each girl, so they can walk away a clear knowledge of what to choose for themselves.
Take Home Folder & Ongoing Support
Everyone receives a take home folder with a rage of information about the topics and a comprehensive list of shops. As part of this workshop, you will be able to email Sue or Georgia for any questions you have for a 3 month after the workshop.
Wardrobe Organisation
You will give a range of ideas about how to better organise your space. Are you constantly thinking why can’t I find anything to wear? When we know where everything is, it is quicker & easier to get ready every day.
Building Your Wardrobe of Clothes
Are you confused when shopping of what to buy? Demonstration on how to plan, buy and reduce the items you need to still have a wardrobe of clothes for any occasion.
Mix & Match your Clothes
If you have a lot of clothes and still nothing to wear, Demonstration on how to Mix & Match clothes, to reduce the number of clothes you need. The more you can mix and match, the more money you save and the more space you will have in your wardrobe.
How to Accessorise
Demonstrations on how to wear a jewellery and scarves and show how you can completely change the look of any outfit. Also, what type of bags and shoes are suitable for what occasions.
Considerations
As you begin to go to different places, attend work experience, and get jobs, there is a little more to consider when dressing.
Co-ordinating Colours
You can explore what colours you are more comfortable wearing. Know your skin tone and have more confidence about choosing colours and how to wear them.
De-coding Jeans & Shorts styles
Show you a huge range of jeans & shorts, will give you a better understanding of what is out there and helps you to plan what is suitable for what occasion. There are many tips about the jean designs, leg style, the positioning of the waistband, different denim fabric looks.
Casual Clothes for School
We help you to feel more comfortable about what to wear on this day at school. Many options are discussed and suggestions are given to help you plan an outfit around the school rules.
